Rajkummar Rao hasn’t changed after receiving so much love and appreciation says girlfriend Patralekha
Actor Rajkummar Rao and his girlfriend Patralekha attended GQ Men of The Year Awards 2017 on Friday in Mumbai. While interacting with media, Patralekha stated that Rajkummar hasn’t changed after receiving so much of love and appreciation for his work.
Rajkummar Rao is one actor who graduated from prestigious FTII, Pune after initial struggle, he was one of the rare young actor who won National Award for his film ‘Shahid’ so early in his career. After that he has consistently working in quality films, giving finest performances. Yesterday, Rajkummar’s ‘Newton’ released and first day of its release itself it was nominated for India’s official entry at the Oscars awards despite achieving so much in short span of his career, he is known as extremely modest and humble actor of industry, Talking about his ‘Newton’ being India’s official entry at the Oscars and endearing quality of his boyfriend, Patralekha said, “I am very thrilled. Newton is a film that should get in top five films at the Oscars because it’s really good and relevant that it shows different side of India.”
“The kind of films releases Rajkummar had this year and the kind of love and appreciation he has got but the best thing about him is that he hasn’t changed and I keep telling him how you deal with so much of love and appreciation. He is so much consumed in his work that he doesn’t realize what’s going on”
Rajkummar also spoke about ‘Newton’ being nominated as India’s official entry at the Oscars, he said, “We are very happy. It’s the official entry at the Oscars this year from our country so we are really proud of ‘Newton’”
When asked him that was he expecting his film being nominated at the Oscars, Rajkummar said, “When I heard the script, I expected really good film and we tried to make good and honest film so when people recognize our effort and honesty then it feels great”
Talking about GQ Men of The year Award 2017, Rajkummar said, “I am very happy being here. It’s my third appearance at the GQ. I have got Men of The Year Award earlier so it’s always pleasure coming at GQ”
He also shared his style tips, he said, “Just be confident and feel confident in whatever you are wearing”
When asked about his team strategy to promote ‘Newton’ at the Oscars, he said, “It’s just got announced. It’s too soon to decide but our team is going to meet and we will plan something about it because there has to be strategy. We will be going to America to promote the film.”
Rajkummar shared screen space with Aamir Khan in Talaash whose Lagaan also nominated at the Oscars as India’s official entry, so when asked Rajummar whether he is going to get some guidance from Aamir Khan about film promotion at the Oscars, he said, “Off course, I will definitely call him and meet him because Lagaan was there at the Oscars and we are really proud of Lagaan so I am sure Aamir sir will help us a lot.”
Talking about his future projects, Rajkummar said, “After ‘Newton’, there is ‘Omerta’ which is directed Hansal sir which premiered at Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). Then, there is Bose web series for which I am really excited and after that there is film called ‘Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana’ which is directed by Ratna Sinha.
Rajummar’s ‘Newton’ revolves around Newton Kumar, a rookie government clerk is sent on election duty to a naxal-controlled town in the conflict-ridden jungles of Chhattisgarh, India. Faced with the apathy of security forces and the looming fear of guerrilla attacks by communist rebels, he tries his best to conduct free and fair voting despite the odds stacked against him.
Newton is directed by Amit V Masurkar.
